ASGN executive promoted to company president, further leadership changes announced


ASGN Inc. (NYSE: ASGN) promoted Rand Blazer to President of ASGN while he was previously President of its Apex Systems LLC division. Blazer took on the role of chairman from CEO Ted Hanson, who had served as both president and CEO. Hanson will continue to serve as CEO.

Blazer had been with Apex Systems for 17 years, joining its advisory board in January 2005. He became COO in February 2007. ASGN acquired Apex in 2012.

ASGN – a leading provider of IT, marketing / creative and life sciences personnel – also announced several other executive promotions:

  • Sean Casey, COO at Apex Systems, has been promoted to President of Apex.
  • Matt Riley, COO of ASGN’s Creative Circle Marketing / Creative People Division, has been promoted to President of Creative Circle.
  • John Heneghan, COO of ECS, the federal division of ASGN, has been promoted to President of ECS.

The company also noted that Shane Lamb would retain his position as president of CyberCoders Inc., a supplier of IT personnel.

Additionally, George Wilson retired as President of ECS, effective Monday. Wilson will remain as an executive advisor for three months to help with Heneghan’s transition to the role of chairman.
