The Office of the President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) does not take seriously the statement of the Azerbaijani company Azerigaz regarding the intention to rebuild the natural gas infrastructure in Stepanakert, therefore it does not comment on it.
“We consider the statement given not to be serious and do not comment [on it]“, the office of the President of Artsakh told Armenpress.
The official representative of the Azerigaz company, Teymur Jafarov, had said that they planned to rebuild the natural gas infrastructure in the capital of Artsakh, Stepanakert.
He added that “some work has already been done” on the gas pipeline leading to Stepanakert.
On March 27, however, the Artsakh Information Center issued a statement noting that natural gas only enters Artsakh through one pipeline, which comes from Armenia.
“The receipt and distribution of natural gas from the mentioned pipeline to its subscribers is carried out by Artsakhgaz CJSC. Therefore, the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR or its subsidiary Azerigaz (…) cannot have anything to do with the [natural] gas supply process of the Republic of Artsakh”, added the company Artsakhgaz in its respective press release.
